Based in East London and Norwich (where she is studying Media at the University of East Anglia), Zara is a breakthrough young artist
whose powerful, graphic compositions and deft eye for colour and shading bring a fresh new visual language to illustration.
With a background using traditional media, Zara has fully progressed her artform into the digital arena, in her unique-looking illustrations she looks for strong poses, using dynamic lighting and fresh colour schemes to come up with her bold individual compositions.
Her art is mainly focussed on people and identity, but recently she has been experimenting with habitats and places.
Zara's powerful, graphical and colourful style makes an instant impact with viewers. She expertly uses contrast and/or clashing colours
to draw in your eye to character expressions and moods, which in turn create a unique persona within each image.
"I have been drawing for many years, always getting encouragement from my very artistic family. For the past 4 or 5 years I have been pursuing my career as an illustrator/artist. I have followed a number of digital artists from different genres on social media and, seeing the progression of their work it was not long before I decided to put myself out there. From there I progressed onto commission work".
